Before we start, I've only tested this method with the C1 revision of this dongle...

The driver required is the rt73 driver from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/. I had luck with the CVS tarball of the driver, the snapshot I downloaded is hosted here for compatability.

To install I ran the following (as root inside the Module folder of the rt73-cvs folder):

apt-get install wireless-tools

make && make install

echo rt73 >> /etc/modules

depmod -a

modprobe rt73

ifconfig -a

iwlist wlan0 scan

Then configure your device in the Networking tool found in the Desktop menu at the top of the screen under the Administration option.

If you have issues, try running "lsusb" and see if your device shows up. Mine shows as:

Bus 005 Device 004: ID 07d1:3c03 D-Link System
